  • From Charlotte - Take I-85 South to Exit 26, the Belmont Abbey College Exit
  • Turn LEFT off of ramp at the stoplight onto Old NC 273
  • Turn LEFT at the first stop light on Woodlawn Street
  • At the T-intersection, turn RIGHT onto Hickory Grove Rd. Continue for 1.8 miles
  • Turn LEFT onto Redlair Lane (gravel road) – look for the signs!

Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS THE CONSERVANCY’S ANNUAL MEETING AND SHOULD I ATTEND?
Beginning at 11 a.m., Dave Cable, Executive Director will host the Annual Meeting. He will give an update on 2007 successes, the state of Catawba Lands Conservancy, and share 2008 priorities. At this time we will also recognize 2007 landowners who donated land, announce the 2007 Conservation Volunteer of the Year, and vote in 3 new board members. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend the meeting.

WILL THERE BE FOOD?
There will be food vendors selling lunch items and drinks.

SHOULD I BRING ANYTHING?
You should bring a picnic blanket to rest on - there will be a very limited number of chairs.

CAN I BRING MY DOG?
You may bring your dog, but they must remain on a leash. There will be live animals, cars moving in and out, and sensitive habitats that could be damaged.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
All activities are free. There will be food for sale and some local artisans will sell some of their unique items.

WHAT IF IT RAINS ON SATURDAY, MAY 31?
Land Conservation Celebration! will be held rain or shine, dress for the weather!
