Nearly 40 people gathered to hike along the South Fork of the Catawba River on Saturday, May 12. 

Craig Wyant, a Catawba Lands Conservancy volunteer, led our group through the Rhyne Preserve and the South Fork Rail Trail while enthralling us with stories of the past and present of Lincoln County.  James Collins, a member of the NC Native Plant Society, highlighted a variety of plants as we walked.
