Conservancy Announces its Fall Nature Series

Catawba Lands Conservancy announces its Fall Nature Series taking place Aug. – Dec. Four hikes on permanently conserved properties and one lecture are unique opportunities to get back to nature within your own community.

Kilimanjaro: A Journey to the Top Lecture — Thursday, August 23, 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Mecklenburg County


Laurel Hill Preserve — Saturday, September 29, 10 a.m. - noon
Gaston County, Moderately strenuous

Killian Forest Owl Prowl — Friday, October 26, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Lincoln County, Gaston County, All levels

Edwards Preserve — Saturday, November 10 , 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Yancey County, Strenuous

Buck-Smith-Long Preserve — Saturday, December 1, 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Gaston County, Moderately strenuous

Catawba Lands Conservancy lectures and hikes are unique opportunities to explore local, natural treasures that the Conservancy permanently protects. Great for families, and individuals, spend a few hours with your local land trust and enjoy pristine lands in our community.

These events are open to the public, there is no cost. Space, however, is limited - registration is required. Registration concludes at 2 p.m. the day prior to the hike or lecture. To register, email info@catawbalands.org or call 704.342.3330 x210.
