Northbrook Access Closing for Clean-up and Renovation

A gate and lock will be installed at the Northbrook Access Point of the South Fork of the Catawba River on Stanley Spencer Mountain Road September 20, 2007. The access point will remain closed for clean-up and renovations. Large amounts of garbage have been dumped there and numerous cases of vandalism have occurred degrading the site and the water quality of the river. Catawba Lands Conservancy, responsible for the permanent protection of the land and access point, will begin a clean-up and renovation project. The Conservancy looks forward to providing an upgraded river access to the public to benefit the community.
